Only been once. The first idea with the hinges allowing you to open a large hatch style panel is more what i was thinking about.if you look at the mr2oc thread, there's a picture of a white s2k that has the style i was thinking of.plus there could be some potential performance perks too.if you look at the picture of the mr2 with the holes through the plexiglass (or whatever material it was they used), they placed their intercooler directly beneath the holes to allow greater air flow.once again, just a thought.i have no doubt that it would be un-godly expensive, but i think it would look amazing and, given proper planning, could really enhance certain performance parts such as the intake (if someone fashioned an exige-style scoop), and intercooler (if you were willing to try the crazy mounting beneath the holes in the plexiglass).i just think it would be a interesting and potentially impressive mod and was curious if anyone else had really looked into it.and when i had the NA miata, i was actually looking at one of those fast back style hatches, but the one i was looking at did not have hinges, so you had to take it off every time you wanted to access the trunk kinda stupid in my opinion.but then again, price was more of a concern then.(not saying price is no issue here, but it was a hell of a lot MORE of an issue then).
